After Colors

Here's the after...Later i'll explain why the before and after. For this one, I had troubles deciding which colors I wanted to use. I'm still fairly new to coloring in the sense that i've been drawing with pencils way longer than I have using any color medium. Anyway, hope you like. Comments truly desired.

Before Color

Sorry for the delay in artwork and journal entries. The internet was down at the end of last week so I couldn't post anything. Anyway, here's a colored version of the nerd sketch in the Before and after piece. This was done in Illustrator (for the line work) and PS for color. Hope you like. Please feel free to comment. The After version will be colored and posted soon.

Daily Sketches

Sorry for the delay I was trying to wait til I had some finished pics to post...Even though I didn't post in the last few days, I've been faithful to my pencil...I've been sketching on a regular but I've just not scanned anything. Anyway, here a couple of PS sketches that I did. The full page of sketches were done today for some doodling relief. A few sketches of the BHPs. Hope you enjoy at least til I start posting some finished pieces.

Tre' and O.Beese

The 2 main characters from another project I started a while back. I sketched these up today. Right now, all I have for the story is a colection of sketches... I had an animated intro, but decided not to post it since it's old and the characters have changed since. I've not had the motivation to animate this as of yet. At one point I was working on scripting, with a friend, but he has since left the picture and it's back to being my story again..which is cool, but it's still hard to get motivated to work on. Enough rambling... I hope you like.

I sketched this in PS...I would like to finish, but I have a slew of other sketches that I feel somewhat the same way about... only time will tell.

Maybe with a little prompting, I'll refine and finish.

Quinton Cast1 Sketches

My plan was to clean these up, but schedule got tight yesterday, and drwing wasn't on the agenda. Anyway, these are some characters from Quinton's gotta Calling.

Jazz Man & Kiko

More old stuff... this is to make up for not posting regularly. These characters are a part of the story including L-bars. I have more drawings of these characters however, I've not finished them with coloring or clean up. I've also modified some of the proportions to fit that of L-bars in a sense... I plan on doing a height chart to showcase the various sizes.

4Tre'

I did quite a few sketches last night, but just in case I don't get around to posting some today I wanted to drop an old image on here. This is a turn around of a character I've had for a story Called the "Big Hat Playas ©" His name is 4tre' a 16 year old midget. I'll get around to posting some of the crew pics as well.

L-bars

Here's another version of LB. Finished this pic last night... wanted to convey a trendiness about him, but not making him overly cliche' with a "hip-hop" style.

Quinton

This is a character I developed a few years back... The story was called Quinton's got a calling... It's about an young kid who's somewhat impoverished and get's bullied all the time. He's always questioning about God and his relevance in his life and his environment.
The character design was for a younger audience, thus the simplicity of shapes (and he was not influenced by little bill :D )

I may give him a hint of hair...who knows
You may have noticed a small trend, but not all my character's are bald black males... :shock: lol!

Samson Design and Redesign

Decided to do a Samson character after watching hercules and some other cartoons... I didn't want to do herc but wanted to do a strong character so I decided to go Bible and do a biblical strongman. I chose to do hercules but didn't want to give him the typical 'white guy' look but wanted to make him look like the peoples of his time..a sort of olive complexion. I thought of giving him some dreds based off a descriotion I heard years ago. Anyway, I made a sketch and colored. After looking at the sketch for a few moments... I realized that I didn't quite like how he looked, so I decided to give him a more earthy feel and make him more robust...just to show some griddiness. I thought about possible animation, but his story is not nescessarily a happy ending... anyway this is my design for now... I may color him & clean some of the rough edges so to speak.
